How to say Kimono in Japanese

着物 Kimono comes from 着るもの kiru mono which means the things you wear.
Kimono is also an English word.


Cultural Note: What is the difference between 着物 kimono and 浴衣 yukata?
The main difference is the material. Also, yukata is a bathrobe usually worn in the summer. Check out other differences between kimono and yukata.
